Sam, Aldi Apprentice
I knew I wanted to be an apprentice and when I saw the Aldi scheme it looked great. I liked it because it looked like you'd always be doing something. It looked like you would never get bored. That really appealed to me. I had never applied for a job before so at first I found the thought of the application process quite hard but I shouldn't have worried. I had individual interviews with my college first and then individual and group interviews with managers from my areas. I'm quite a confident person – I like talking to people and you need to be a people person to get on in retail.
Leah, Aldi Apprentice
Through my course, I knew I wanted to work in retail and I had been doing lots of work experience in different stores. It was my teacher who first spotted the apprenticeship programme with Aldi. My first thought when I saw the application form was that it was ideal for me – it was a really good opportunity with a big retailer. You get to learn something new every day, which has been exciting. There is a lot of support from other members of staff so that has made it quite easy. The six months since I started have just flown by.
On the Aldi Apprentice Scheme we like a 'can-do' attitude.
