Sam, Aldi Apprentice
Having found the Aldi Apprenticeship Scheme on the Government Apprentice website, I quickly discovered that it had the opportunities I was looking for. After a thorough application process I was off and running. The fast pace of the role is really exciting with lots of chances to learn new and useful skills. As well as the on the job training, there is also studying towards a recognised qualification that I can fit around work. I am really enjoying the chance to get ahead and would recommend anyone thinking of this scheme to go ahead and apply.
Caitlin, Aldi Apprentice
I first heard of the Apprentice Scheme via the National Apprenticeships website as I was looking to pursue a career in retail management. I worked with the Preston Retail Skills Shop on finalising my application, and after undergoing a work trial, I began my apprenticeship with Aldi almost straight away. The interview process was slightly nerve-wracking but my advice to people applying would be to go into it with a positive attitude, to try to stand out during the group interview sessions and to be yourself throughout the whole process. The best part of the job is definitely gaining new skills and the qualifications, and being consistently challenged. Aldi also helps to ensure that the balance between in-store work and my studies is manageable. The scheme consists of much more than I expected, given the range of work I am required to do. You also gain qualifications whilst on the scheme and have the opportunity to apply for middle management once completed.
On the Aldi Apprentice Scheme we like a 'can-do' attitude.
